I'd like to start by saying I had a great time. The field's terrain features and layout alone were worth the 4 and a half hour drive. There were plenty of skirmishes driven by good objective creation which should have given everyone plenty of trigger time as well as use of the field.
Now I have some constructive criticisms. I really hope they're taken that way as I think the op went pretty well, but maybe these small and easy to implement things might push it to an even higher standard than what everyone has already come to expect. KZoo guys please don't feel like I'm kickin at you, there is a reason I drove that far to play with you all in the first place.
Logistics:
1. The bathroom facilities. Having spent quite some time in the military I've dropped a deuce in some pretty nasty places but I have never seen a crapper in that bad of shape. I don't want to even imagine what those poor girls were having to do in that hell hole.
2. Underage drinking. I'm sure eyes are rolling at this but if ya take a step back and think of what would happen if one minor got hurt or hurt someone u/i on those grounds....holy s**t. I was a kid once too, but all of the adults know what happens when kids get busted drinking and you're present.
Organization
1. Uniform regs. This was my tan teams issue mainly. I think there were roughly 50% of the team actually wearing a tan uniform. There were black t-shirts on both teams and there were people on my team in all black and or woodland. Big time confusion from 75 yards through the woods. Maybe if we could emphasize in the event postings that colors are to be enforced?
2. Team arrangement. Once formation was held I heard some murmurs that it was KZoo and some other smaller organized squads verse the rest on tan. I didn't see skill set being so much of an issue, but it definitely created communication issues on tan. "The rest " on tan typically had no radios, hadn't played there before, and had no idea who each other were (fall back to color issues.). I'm thinking this stuff would have to be addressed in the sign up / registration phase. If it's a " my team vs. your team " event, I wanna know ahead of time so I can bring a team, lol!!!
In closing I think most would agree that if you know what "IRENE" is, you want to play there. There is no reason Tino's events can't hold us all to those same standards. Organize it like it's your daughters wedding. Ref it like the insurance guys are hiding in the bushes, and show up and play as professional as the military men and women you're pretending to be. Overall good event, I'll see you all again I hope.
